Kokushibo, the man who became a demon
Who is Kokushibo?
Kokushibo is a demon unrelated to the 12 Kizuki, where he holds the most important position, that of Upper-Rank One, being an antagonist of Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba.
However, this is not always the case.
About 5 centuries ago, during the Golden Age of Demon Slayers period, Kokushibo was a man, Michikatsu Tsugikuni, a former Demon Slayer.
Physical appearance of Kokushibo
As a demon, Kokushibo has an impressive physical appearance: a tall, muscular man with pale skin, dark hair, black and spiky, but with red tips.
It is easily recognizable because it has three sets of eyes, with red glare and yellow irises.
The irises are also provided with some straight, black lines.
Of the sets of eyes, the one in the middle shows the kanji “Upper Rank” and “One.”
In addition to the sets of eyes, Kokushibo’s physical appearance is complemented by red marks, which can be likened to flames. In fact, except for the skin tone and the sets of eyes, Kokushibo’s appearance as a demon is not very different.
His eyes were dark purple, and his sclera was normal, white.
The fact that he was beheaded by Sanemi Shinazugawa and Gyomei Himejima also led to a change in his physical appearance, in the sense that now we are dealing with a Kokushibo that has fangs, white horns, sharp nails, changed pupils, shorter hair, tubes that They come out of his body and even some appendages that come out of his body and look a bit like a scorpion tail.
Costume
The costume that Kokushibo wears seems quite simple compared to other characters.
Thus, he stands out with a nagging kimono with a pattern of beehives, purple and black. The outfit is completed by black pants in human style, and at the waist, it has a katana provided with eyes.
Personality of Kokushibo
Although he is a demon, Kokushibo also has qualities that have probably remained with him since he was still human.
Among them is the fact that he is very punctual, a follower of the rules, and, surprisingly, even shows respect for the hierarchy of the 12 Kizuki.
Surprisingly for a demon, he knows how to be humble, but he does not hesitate to admit his failures when necessary, or he complains when he has some difficulties.
He is very loyal to Muzan Kibutsuji, which can be seen in his actions, which are carried out precisely to fulfill his objectives.
His past as a human being matters more than he might like, and even many of his actions lead us to think that it is not an embodiment of evil.
Thus, he seems to feel affection for Muichiro, his descendant, and surprisingly, he is afraid of death.
When he was a human being, Kokushibo had a twin brother, Yoriichi Tsugikuni, whom he felt great envy, especially because he had extraordinary abilities, doubled by incredible talent. At one point, this envy turned into hatred.
That is why it is quite surprising to find out that despite these not very uplifting feelings, it still seems that there is at the same time a great love in his soul, which, however, he does not let come to the surface.
In fact, when his brother died, Kokushibo really suffered and kept his flute as a memory.
Fear of defeat
If we were to choose a feeling that permanently accompanied Kokushibo, both during his human time and as a demon, this would be the fear of defeat.
For this reason, he made many uninspired decisions.
It did not prove to be with his head on his shoulders, not even about using his demonic powers.
In fact, he even realized that he paid too much for the power he wanted so much. Unfortunately, Kokushibo died without even having the satisfaction of being able to achieve something he wanted.
Abilities
Despite many weaknesses, Kokushibo is a very powerful demon with extensive experience. He used the Transparent World and Breathing with total concentration, and his power is truly impressive. There were many occasions when he demonstrated these abilities.
Biological absorption
Through physical contact, Kokushibo can absorb both human bodies and demons.
Demon Slayer Mark
This ability greatly enhances a person’s abilities and makes him much faster and stronger than in reality.
Of course, her price is the curse of dying at 25, but because she turned into a demon, Kokushibo was no longer tied to him.
The Transparent World
Through this ability, he can observe the muscular system, the movement of the joints and even the blood flow of the opponents, which makes him anticipate and annihilate the opponents’ attacks.
Extrasensory perception
As a demon, Kokushibo can detect even others present, apart from those in his perception range.
Changing physical appearance
Like other demons, Kokushibo can change his physical appearance. He also uses this ability to create his own katana, which can never be destroyed. In fact, this katana is an extension of one’s body and, therefore, can easily regenerate it.
Body almost impossible to destroy
Kokushibo’s body is almost impossible to destroy and has some of the strongest regenerating abilities. We also deal with high speed, excellent reflexes and an impressive force.
Breathing style
Kokushibo is recognized as the first demon to use special breathing techniques. In fact, the Breath of the Moon is his specific style, being one of the strongest and most dangerous.
Kokushibo dies from Muichiro’s Nichiren Sword, seemingly invincible, which has turned very red, preventing him from regenerating.
